Marie Burtner

Marie A. (Speck) Burtner, 84, of Wernersville, formerly of Hampen Heights, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Phoebe Berks Nursing Center. She had been transferred there from Phoebe Berks Village.

Born in Shillington, she was a daughter of the late John J. Speck and Estella M. (Renninger) Speck, and widow of Philip W. Burtner, who passed away February 3, 1985.

She was a 1942 graduate of Shillington High School and attended Reading Business Institute.

She worked at Western Union in Reading for 23 years, and then Reading Trust for 3 years, retiring in 1969.

She was a member of Immanuel U.C.C. in Shillington.

She is survived by her cousin: Stephanie A. Snyder of Lititz.
