Marie Bassler

Marie P. Bassler, 94, formerly of Exeter Township, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 5:50 pm at the  Heritage of Green Hills  Personal Care.    She was the wife of the late Paul T. Bassler.  Born in Philadelphia, Mrs. Bassler was the daughter of the late Robert A. and Catherine (Devlin) Doyle.  She was a 1946 graduate of Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls and was a member of Saint Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, Exeter Township.  Mrs. Bassler devoted her life to her husband and her six children. She instilled her family with her Catholic faith and Irish heritage.  She is survived by her children, Paul R. Bassler of Exeter Townhip; Michael P. Bassler, husband of Rogena Bassler of Waxahachie, Texas; James J. Bassler, husband of Joan Bassler of Exeter Township; Mark W. Bassler of Groton, Connecticut; Barbara A. Given, wife of Mitchel Given of Shillington; Robert F. Bassler of Baltimore, Maryland and her 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her siblings Julia Fitzgerald and Charles Doyle. The family extends its heartfelt thanks to the staff for her care while at the Heritage of Green Hills.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church 4975 Boyertown Pike, Exeter Township, Monday, October 10, 2022 at 11:00 am.  Reverend Matthew Kuna, Celebrant.  Interment will be held privately at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.  The family will receive relatives and friends at Saint Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church Monday from 10:00 am to 10:45 am.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Saint Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church 2427 Perkiomen Ave. Mount Penn, PA 19606 or Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls Class of 1946, 1000 West Lycoming Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140 in memory of Mrs. Marie P.
