Marian A. Henry

Marian A. Henry (nee Segner), 100, of Reading, passed away peacefully in her home with family on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 9:36 AM. She was the widow of Oscar G. Henry, who died in 1985. Born to the late Tyson Segner and Elsie Rohrbach, she is survived by her son, Curtis C. Henry of Alsace Township; former daughter-in-law Beverly J. Packard (Michael) of Exeter Township; Grandchildren Joshua M. Henry (Sarah) of Springfield and Rachel R. Henry (fiancé Casey Seward) of Reading; Great-grandchildren Emmerson Shaw Henry and Aiden Roy Henry, both of Springfield. She was pre-deceased by two siblings, Naomi Pritchard and Charles Segner. She is survived by a number of nieces, nephews, as well as grand-nieces and nephews.

Marian graduated from Reading High School in 1942 and was married to Oscar G. Henry in 1945. She worked for the Pennsylvania Dept. of Labor and Industry in Unemployment Compensation in Reading, PA. A valued employee for nearly 40 years, she enjoyed helping people find new training and job opportunities. 

Marian and her husband enjoyed family times on their boat in the Chesapeake Bay and on vacations in Canada and Florida. She was an avid seamstress and an accomplished cook. A devoted caregiver as well, she took care of her grandmother and her mother in their later years. A member of Alsace Lutheran Church, she often helped, along with others, on Communion days or delivering flowers to shut-ins. Marian was always most comfortable in giving of herself to those around her. A beloved relative and friend, she will always be sorely missed. 

The family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Home, 1605 Rockland Street, Hampden Heights, Wednesday, January 15, 2025 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am followed by Funeral Service at 10:00 am.
