Marian Elizabeth Bixler

Marian Elizabeth Bixler, 87, of Shillington passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Berks Heim. She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth A. Bixler Sr. Together they shared 57 years of marriage. 

Born on February 9, 1937, in Shillington, she was the daughter of the late Paul W. and Dorothy M. (Bitting) Hoch.

She was a graduate of Governor Mifflin High School Class of 1955. Marian was a member of Glad Tiding Church and the Food Service Association. She was involved as a Camper fire leader, Cub Scout, and Boy Scout helper. Marian loved camping and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Marian is survived by her children, Connie Bixler, of Shillington; Cathleen Lorah, wife of Leslie Lorah, of Shillington; Cynthia Yeager, wife of John Yeager, of Mohrsville; Kenda Spotts, wife of Gene Spotts, of Shartlesville; Kenneth Bixler Jr., husband of Lesley Bixler, of Temple; Paul K. Bixler, husband of Heather Bixler, of Wyomissing; son-in-law, William Gottschall, of Shillington; 23 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. 

Marian was predeceased by her daughter Charlene Gottschall who passed away in May of 2021 and her siblings Paul D. Hoch and Barbara Seidel.

A Funeral Service will be held at GT Church 1110 Snyder Road Reading, PA 19609 on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 11:00am. Burial will be private. The family will receive relatives and friends at GT Church from 9:30am-11:00am. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Glad Tidings Real Life Youth Church.
