Maria Marmarou

Maria Marmarou, 90, of South Heidelberg Township, entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 4:00 pm. She was the cherished wife of Efstratios Marmarou for 63 years. Born in the village of Filia, Mytilene, Greece, Mrs. Marmarou was the daughter of the late Andonios and Ariadni (Krideras) Kazazi. She was a member of Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, and the owner of Strat’s Restaurant, in Reading, PA. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Marmarou is survived by her daughters, Debbie M. Yost, wife of Eric Yost, of Wyomissing; Ariadne M. Kopala, wife of. Michael Kopala, of Shillington; Georgia M. Pauley, wife of John Pauley, of South Heidelberg Township, her 12 wonderful grandchildren, a great grandchild on the way, as well many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sister, Evangelia Tsirakis, of Mytilene, Greece. Mrs. Marmarou was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Evelyn E. Himlin, wife of Donald Himlin, of Sinking Spring; her brother and three sisters. May Her Memory Be Eternal.

Funeral Service will be held at Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 1001 East Wyomissing Blvd., Reading, PA 19611, on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 11:00 am.  Interment will follow at Sinking Spring Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church on Thursday 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
