Marguerite Sanner

June 12, 1909 — December 13, 2010

Marguerite H. Sanner, 101, formerly of Cumru Township, passed away December 13, 2010 at 4:50 pm in The Highlands at Wyomissing Heather Court. She was the wife of the late John P. Sanner who passed away June 13, 1999. Born in Blandon, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Sallie (Lachman) Himmelreich. Mrs. Sanner was a graduate of Reading High School and Kutztown University. She was an Kindergarten and Elementary School Teacher in the Reading School District retiring in the 1970's. She was a member of Calvary United Church of Christ, Reading. She was a Charter member of The Highlands at Wyomissing and was very active in various groups. She was a life member of Calvary United Church of Christ, member of Berks County Historical Society, Reading Musical Foundation, Reading Public Museum, Mengel Natural History Society, Kutztown University Alumni Association, she was a piano player, loved to travel throughout the United States, Europe and Asia, loved United States National Parks, avid bridge player, was a bird lover and a great walker. Mrs. Sanner was preceded in death by her daughter Sara Jane Sanner in 1951. She is survived by nephews Clifford B. LePage, Jr. of Wyomissing and Jay William Himmelreich of Germantown, TN, nieces Sandra Bonser of The Villages, FL and Kathleen Miller of Sinking Spring. She was preceded in death by siblings, Jesse and Harry Himmelreich, Sara Hay and Minnie LePage.
