Margaret Yeager

March 10, 1926 — February 9, 2011

Margaret J. "Peg" Yeager, 84, of Wyomissing, passed away February 9, 2011 at home. She was the loving wife of Edwin R. Yeager, whom she was married to for 61 years. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late James W. Jarvis and Florence L. (Buck) Jarvis.


Mrs. Yeager was employed by Bell Telephone as a Service Representative from 1944 to 1952. She was co-owner of Yeager Supply, Inc. which she and her husband established in 1967 in Reading. She also started and was owner of Margaret's Shoe Store at 146 North 5th Street in Reading from 1984 to 1998.


Mrs. Yeager was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ and a member of Beta Sigma Phi International. She was the neighborhood mom in Shillington and her backyard was known as "the playground". She was a Girl Scout Leader, a Blue Bird Leader, and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling, especially Christmas holidays in Disney World with her husband, children, and grandchildren.


In addition to her husband, Mrs. Yeager is survived by her daughters, Alison B., wife of Robert C. Hinrichs of Wyomissing and Leslie L., wife of Joseph F. Giardiello of Wyomissing; grandchildren, Bradley Giardiello, husband of Cheryl McGee of Owings Mills, MD; Lauren Giardiello, fiancAC. of Theodore Bieniosek of Wyomissing; and James Hinrichs of Wyomissing; step granddaughter, Cynthia, wife of Joseph Moran of Hatboro, PA; and step great grandchildren, Joseph and Belinda Moran. She was preceded in death by her sister, Grace J., wife of William Ogan.
