Margaret M. "Peg" Bollendorf, 92, formerly of Reading, Allentown and Harrisburg, passed away January 17, 2009 at 7:06 pm in her Needham, Mass. residence. She was the beloved wife of the late W.R. "Bob" Bollendorf who passed away December 13, 2007. Born in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Ellen V. (Breslin) Barry. Mrs. Bollendorf was a graduate of Catholic High School in Harrisburg and a member of St. Catharine of Siena Church in Exeter Township. Of all of her accomplishments, Peg's greatest achievements have been in the lives of her family and friends. She had a unique gift to recognize and appreciate the talents in others and to make them feel loved and lifted by her presence. Her creative mind, kind heart and brilliant smile allowed her to make everything she participated in sparkle. Her generous heart filled her home with love, fun, family and friends, including an attitude that there was always room for one more. She leaves all her children and grandchildren with the knowledge that they were truly loved. She was a Loving Mother to Michael W. husband of Gloria bollendorf of Richmond, VA; Patrick R. husband of Joanne Bollendorf of Exeter Township; Mary Ann Malinowski of Mohnton; Peggy, wife of John Carberry with whom she last resided; Ellen, wife of Mario Scalzi of Marblehead, Mass. She was a Loving Grandmother to Michael; Alex, and his wife Ashlea; Collin; Margaret; Kyle and his wife Linda; Alan and his fiance Faron O'Shea and Loving Great Grandmother to Victoria.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Berks County 1801 North 11th Street Reading, PA 19604 in memory of Mrs. Margaret M. Bollendorf.
