Mae Davidheiser

Mae E. Davidheiser, 93, formerly of Reading and a resident of Phoebe Berks Village since July of 2000, passed away Friday, March 26, 2010 at 2:10 pm in Phoebe Berks Health Care Center a resident since August 13, 2005. She was the wife of the late Paul E. Davidheiser who passed away December 4, 1974. Born in Rockland Township, she was the daughter of the late Martin R. and Helen (Eckert) Heffner. She was the owner/operator of Davidheiser Meat Market at 13th & Green Streets, Reading, the owner of Davidheiser Rest Home at 1519 Perkiomen Ave. Reading from 1956-1974, then worked in the gift wrap department at Pomeroy's for 3 years. Mrs. Davidheiser was a member of Zion Spies Evangelical Reformed Church. She was Past Worthy Matron of Golden Rule Chapter #390, Order of Eastern Star, West Reading, Past Worthy High Priestess & Past Watchman of Shepherd of Tiberias Shrine Member #21, Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem, Past Royal Matron of Lucille Court #92 Order of Amaranth, Past President of Auxiliary of the Reading Commandry #9. Mrs. Davidheiser was preceded in death by her son, Earl Heffner, August 19, 2007. She is survived by 3 step granddaughters, 9 step great grandchildren and 5 step great great grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers, Roy B. husband of Jean Heffner of Fleetwood, Martin B. Jr. husband of Doris Heffner of South Heidelberg Township, sister, Mary wife of James Dautrich of Lincoln Park and a step brother Ralph T. husband of Nancy Angstadt of Roxboro, PA.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Shriner's Hosptial for Children, 3551 North Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140 in memory of Mrs. Mae E. Davidheiser.
