Mabel Bean

Mabel E. (Culp) Bean, 88, of Wernersville, passed away March 28, 2011 at 11:05 PM in Reading Hospital & Medical Center where she was a patient since March 20th. She was the wife of Roy J. Bean for 63 years when he passed away January 30, 2005. Born in Bernville on June 27, 1922, she was the daughter of the late LeRoy J. and Viola G. (Smith) Culp.

Mrs. Bean worked at Berkshire Knitting Mills and Hummel Florist, Wernersville, but spent the great portion of her life as a housewife and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her family.

She was a graduate of Wilson High School Class of 1940 and a member of St. John's (Hain's) United Church of Christ, Lower Heidelberg Twp., Heidelberg Heritage Society, and NARFE, chapter 103.

She is survived by a daughter Linda S. Bean, Wernersville; three sons Barry L. Bean, husband of Geraldine M. Bean of Wernersville; Jeffrey D. Bean, husband of Carole A. Bean of Coral Springs, FL; and David M. Bean, husband of Phyllis A. Bean of Auburn, CA; five grandchildren; three step grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one step great granddaughter; and a sister Thelma (Culp) Smith of Shillington. She was predeceased by two sisters June Lowther and Ruth Werner and a great grandson Austin Harris.
