M. Unger

M. Jeannette Unger, 93, formerly of Reading, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 2:17 pm in Manor Care Health Services, Muhlenberg Township. She was the wife of the late Robert C. Unger who passed away September 26, 2014. Born in Reading Mrs. Unger was the daughter of the late Joseph V. and Rhea E. (Renninger) Homan. She was a 1942 graduate of Reading High School and was a member of First Baptist Church in Reading. Mrs. Unger was employed in the sales department at Jaslow's Army & Navy Store in Reading for 14 years retiring in 1986. She is survived by her daughter Deborah A. Rathman, wife of William T. Rathman of Hamburg and her grandchildren Andrew Rathman; Allison Harrison, wife of Andrew Harrison and Christie Barnes and her great grandson William R. Rathman. She is also survived by her sister Pauline Bell of Mohnton; her son-in-law Joseph Barnes and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Unger was preceded in death by her daughter Cynthia A. Barnes, January 31, 2015 and her siblings Miriam Werner; Christine Reich; Barbara Homan; Robert J. Homan and Lucille Ganter.
Graveside Service will be held in Forest Hills Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to First Baptist Church 210 South 5th Street, Reading, PA 19602 in memory of Mrs. M. Jeannette Unger.
