Lynne Burkert-Schappell

Lynne J. Burkert-Schappell, 66, of Kenhorst, passed away Friday, March 30, 2018 at 4:30 am in Mifflin Center. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of Troy A. Burkert, Sr. of Reading and the late Joyce (Weiss) Boyer. Lynne was a graduate of Muhlenberg High School and was a beautician at Wild About Styles in Wyomissing. She is also survived by her sons Travis R. Schappell, husband of Kaitlyn E. Schappell of Kenhorst and Chase J. Schappell of Lewisburg; her brothers Judson Burkert of Reading; half-brothers Alan T. Burkert of Reading; Troy A. Burkert, Jr. of Sinking Spring and was preceded in death by her half-brother L. Oliver Frey. She enjoyed time spent sharing her love of music with her sons and gardening. She also had a passion for big dogs.
Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held in Bean Funeral Homes & Cremation Services 129 East Lancaster Ave. Shillington Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 11:00 am. Amy S. Landis, Certified Celebrant will officiate. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Thursday 10:00-11:00 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508 in memory of Ms. Lynne J. Burkert-Schappell.
