Lucille Altenderfer

Lucille D. "Diz" Altenderfer, 83, of Reading, passed away March 16, 2011 at 1:40 PM in St. Joseph Medical Center where she was a patient since Sunday. She was the wife of Harold A. Altenderfer, Sr. who passed away November 26, 1993. Born in Wyomissing on June 14, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Raymond E. and Maude J. (Good) Dissinger.

She was a graduate of Wyomissing High School and the McCann School of Business and attended Albright College and the Wyomissing Institute of Fine Arts. Lucille was a member of Alpha Iota Sorority. She was employed as a tax consultant by H. & R. Block for 25 years retiring in 1998. She was a member of Nativity Lutheran Church, Reading.

Lucille was an avid bridge player and loved spending time with her friends and family. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed.

Surviving are 2 sons A. Randy Altenderfer at home and Harold A. Altenderfer, Jr. husband of Brenda L. Altenderfer of Lititz, 2 daughters Karen L. (Altenderfer) wife of Robert E. Koch of Mechanicsburg and Meg Altenderfer fiancAC. of Westley "AJ" Archambault, Jr. of Mt. Penn, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
