Loretta Harris

On December 24,2022, our beloved mother, Loretta Jane Harris, 91, finished her earthly stay WITH MY JESUS as she would always say.  She was born on January 4, 1931, to Martin and Helen Latshaw in Reading.  She married the love of her life Vernon in 1978 and shared almost 37 years of blissful marriage together until his passing in 2015.  As an only child longing for a large family, she was blessed with four children, George, David, Lorri, and Jamie.

Loretta dedicated her life to the Lord, her husband, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  The love of our Lord Jesus Christ and brotherly love was what she taught.  She enjoyed singing and could most always be heard singing her beloved gospel songs at home and at church.  She served faithfully at Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in West Lawn for almost fifty years.

Loretta is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Vernon, son George, and granddaughter Kelly.  She is survived by her children: David Mullarkey (Maureen) of Corpus Christi, TX, Lorri Grim of Reading, and Jamie Lorah of Blandon. Also surviving are her daughter-in-law Helen Mullarkey (George), grandchildren Kristin Mullarkey, Sunny McGowan, Shawn Mullarkey, Daniel Mullarkey, Brandi Miller, Austin Grim, Brittany Alonzo and Chelsea Seagreaves.  18 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in Glad Tidings Assembly of God, 1110 Snyder Road, West Lawn. PA 19609.  Pastor Karey Schaffer officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends from 9:00-10:00 at the church.  Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park alongside her beloved Vernon.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mrs. Harris’ memory to Glad Tidings Assembly of God.
