Lois Dewees

Lois E. DeWees, 79, formerly of Akron, PA, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 6:58 am in Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in Reading she was the daughter of the late Melvin E. and Ruth (Wentzel) DeWees. Lois was a 1956 graduate of Exeter High School and Northeastern Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia in 1959. She was a nursing supervisor at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center in Narvon, Lancaster County, for 13 years. Lois was a member of Salem Shalter's Lutheran Church. She is survived by Sue Fredrickson of Reinholds.
Funeral Service will be held in Bean Funeral Home, 6 Fairlane Road, Exeter Township, Thursday, July 26, 2018 at 1:00 pm. Reverend Lesley J. Hand will officiate. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Fairview Cemetery of Belleman's Church, Centre Township. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home Thursday 12:00-1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508 in memory of Ms. Lois E. DeWees.
