Lisa M. Cerniglia

Lisa M. (Oberhauser) Cerniglia, 63, of Exeter Township passed away peacefully surrounded by her closest family on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of Carole J. (Barrell) and James Struble. She was the loving wife of Giuseppe “Joe” Cerniglia and together they shared 40 years of marriage. Lisa graduated from Mt. Penn High School in 1978 and continued her education at RACC, where she received her certification for her LPN. She recently retired from over 40 years in nursing.

 Lisa was always seeking entertainment and fun, whether it was enjoying the casino life in Atlantic City with Joe, dancing and listening to music, or cheering on any of the Philadelphia sports teams. She enjoyed the warmth of the summer sun, lounging by the pool and riding the ocean waves. She took pleasure in planning parties, cooking, and baking cookies. Lisa was very competitive, especially playing card games like Blitz and Kings in a Corner. She was her family’s biggest cheerleader with her endless support and involvement in all activities. Lisa cherished every moment spent with her husband, daughters and grandkids. She will be remembered as a great daughter, wife, mother, Nonna, nurse, and many other titles that she filled to those who loved her.

 Lisa is survived by her husband, Joe, her daughters, Grace Lynne Cuesta, wife of Rene of Exeter Township, Amanda Cerniglia, fiancé to Stephen Castor of Mt. Carmel, and Natalie Birch, wife of Kenneth of Lancaster, her grandchildren, Oliviana, Adrian, Angelina, Emilia, and Theodore, her parents, Carole and James Struble, her siblings, Douglas Oberhauser, husband of Stacey, and Melissa Oberhauser, and nephews, Jordan and Luke Oberhauser as well as many other nieces and nephews. Lisa is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Dorothy “Nana Dot” Albitz.

 A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024, in the Chapel of Saint George, Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum, 3139 Kutztown Road, Reading, PA 19605 at 11:00am. Father Van-Vien Nguyen to celebrate. The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm and Monday, December 23, 2024, from 9:00am to 10:00am in Bean Funeral Home, 6 Fairlane Road, Exeter Township, PA 19606.
