Linwood P. De Long, 68, of Alsace Twp., passed away April 21, 2010 at 9:43 PM in his residence. He was the husband of Dolores J. (Lill) De Long. Born in Krumsville on November 23, 1941, he was the son of the late John De Long and the late Alice (Moyer) De Long.
He was employed for 16 years by Cobra Anchors in Temple as a press operator, retiring as a leader in 2003. Linwood was a member of Lower Alsace Fire Co., Alsace Manor Fire Co., Oley Fire Co., the Northmont Club, Pikeville Rod & Gun Club, the DIPS and was a lifetime member of the Reading Motorcycle Club. He was a member of New Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church. Linwood was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a brother Walter J. De Long husband of Dorothy of Oley, Donald L. De Long husband of Shirley of Barto, a sister Pauline (De Long) wife of Lovell Bartlet of Walnuttown, a sister Thelma M. De Long of Gilbertsville, and 2 God Daughters Stacey L. (Moyer) Gambler and Deneen L. De Long. He was predeceased by a brother John Y. De Long and a sister Evelyn M. (De Long) Witwer. Linwood will be greatly missed by his beloved dog Bambi.
