Lillian Vath

Lillian A. Vath, 96, formerly of Whitfield, passed away Monday, April 25, 2016 at 11:10 am in Berkshire Center. She was the wife of the late Daniel E. Vath who passed away December 31, 2014 and together were married for 59 years. Born in Reading, Mrs. Vath was the daughter of the late Frank W. and Myra E. (Reed) Davis. She was a 1937 graduate of Reading High School and was a member of Saint Luke's Lutheran Church in Reading. She was a personnel manager for Bechtel, Lutz & Jost China and Glass Distributor for 9 years and was employed as secretary to the treasurer of the Reading School District for 9 years retiring in 1955. Mrs. Vath was an accomplished pianist and vocalist who performed frequently in the 1930's and 1940's with various musical groups in Reading and Berks County. She is survived by her son James D. Vath, husband of Kerry B. Vath of Whitfield and her granddaughter Kristin E. Vath.
The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring Friday, April 29, 2016 from 7-8:00 pm. Graveside Service will be held privately by the family in Charles Evans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Saint Luke's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund 449 North 9th Street, Reading, PA 19601 in memory of Mrs. Lillian A. Vath.
