Lester Zaugg

Lester J. Zaugg, 86, of Wyomissing, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 2:10 a.m. at the skilled nursing unit at the Highlands of Wyomissing, where he had been a patient for two weeks.

Born in Iona, South Dakota, he was the son of the late Gottlieb Zaugg and Maude (Felton) Zaugg.

He was the husband of Doris (Blain) Zaugg. The couple shared 52 wonderful years of marriage.

He was in the United States Air Force for twenty two years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He later worked as a Clerk for twenty years with the United States Postal Service.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters: Josephine D. Makoul of Havertown, PA and Lesley "Kim" Zaugg, wife of Alan Vayda of Canton, MI; and a son: John M., husband of Michelle Zaugg of Keller, Texas.

There are also eight grandchildren, including Sarah Reedy of Wyomissing, and eight great grandchildren.

He is also survived by a sister: Iona (Miller) Newby of California.
