Leonard Salsano

Leonard R. "Lenny" Salsano, 74, of Hyde Park, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 6, 2010 at 12:20 p.m. at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Reading, he was the only son of the late Nicholas J. Salsano and Florence E. (Zwoyer) Salsano, and is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Sylvia J. (Rutkowski) Salsano.

Lenny was a passionate storyteller. He was an avid sports and movie fan, with favorite teams the Phillies and Eagles, although they drove him crazy at times. He loved to sing, dance, golf, ski, and play at the beach.

Lenny thought Berks County was the best place to live because it offered so very much for a family. He spent his life selling insurance and cars throughout the area, and was known by a multitude of people from all walks of life. He made friends to the end, always making them smile.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Bryan V., husband of Vicki Salsano of Allentown; Linda M. (Salsano), wife of Barry Hoster of Sinking Spring; Craig A., husband of Debra Salsano of Blandon; and Dean S. Salsano of Strausstown.

There are also ten grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren.

Lenny was a man who left an everlasting impression with his zest and love of life on all who met him. He will be sorely missed. God Bless Lenny.
