Leon Martin

Leon R. "Cracker" Martin, 90, of Reading, passed away on May 1, 2016 at The Mifflin Center.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late William and Cora (Borkert) Martin.
Leon was a US Marine Corps veteran, proudly serving his country in WWII. He went on to have a career as a furnace operator at CarTech Corp. In his spare time, Leon enjoyed bowling and playing golf.
He was predeceased by his wife: Evelyn M. Martin and brother: Robert Martin.
Leon is survived by his children: William L. Martin, husband of Gale E. of Lititz, Timothy R. Martin, husband of Lori A. of Reading and 4 Granddaughters. Leon is also survived by his nieces and nephews and their families. Leon was part of the tight-knit Riverside neighborhood and will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Memorial service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, 1728 Centre Ave., Reading, on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 12:00.
