Leon Lonker, 91 of Blandon, Pennsylvania, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017 at his home in the Keystone Villas, while under the tender care of hospice and the staff at the Keystone. Dad was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 27, 1926 to Isadore Lonker and Esther Markowitz. He met the love of his life on a blind date and he and mom (Iris Maxine Marine) enjoyed a long and loving marriage that began on June 23, 1956. While mom passed before dad on June 8, 2013, he never stopped loving mom. He is survived by his three loving children David, Ruth, and Jack Lonker.
Dad served during World War II and was the sweetest gentlest man ever. He was extremely patient, kind, warm, loving, sensitive and was very brave and hard working. Dad was a great role model to us all.
Dad held the magic behind the fried chicken and Jo-Jo potatoes at our family restaurant, Someplace Special in Shillington, PA.
When dad was younger, he was very artistic and was an avid cyclist, runner, and squash player. Dad has always loved listening to classical music, watching comedies, and being outside in nature.
The family would like to thank all those who cared for dad during his final days including the wonderful staff at Caring Hospice (Andrew, Karen, Mary, Michael), and the staff at Keystone including (Pam, Kaitlyn, Tim, and Janet among others).
