Leo Sobolewski Jr

August 11, 1950 — February 28, 2009

Leo J. "Polock" Sobolewski Jr., 58, of Wernersville, passed away Saturday, February 28th at 2:00 p.m. at the Lebanon VA Medical Center, where he had been a patient since Tuesday.



Born in Wilkes Barre, PA, he was the son of Helen D. (Orelski) Sobolewski of Newmanstown, and the late Leo J. Sobolewski Sr.



He was the loving husband for the last 35 years of Kathy L. (Brossman) Sobolewski.



He was a U.S. Army veteran during the Vietnam conflict.



He worked in Maintenance for the former North American Refractories Co. in Womelsdorf for 28 years, retiring in 1996.



He worked in Fire Police for the Sinking Spring, Lower Heidelberg, and Fritztown Fire Companies, and was also a member of the Womelsdorf and Robesonia Fire Companies. He was a life member of the former Wernersville V.F.W., and social member of both the Sinking Spring V.F.W. and Womelsdorf V.F.W. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 548 in Richland Twp..



He loved to ride his 1977 Superglide and 1988 Ultra Classic Harleys. He was an avid gun collector, and member of the Womelsdorf Rod and Gun Club.



In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his children: Leo J. III of Shillington, and Nicole M. (Sobowleski) Baker of Wernersville.



"Gramps" is also survived by his two princesses, his loving granddaughters, Felicia and Britny.



He is also survived by two brothers: Joseph and Paul, both of Myerstown, and a sister: JoAnn (Sobolewski) Kahl of Richland, PA.
