Lee A. Huyett

Lee A. Huyett, 81, of Shillington, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 7, 2024 at The Heritage of Green Hills. He was the beloved husband of the late Virginia R. Huyett (Parkyn), who passed away on November 11, 2023. Together they shared 44 years of marriage. 

Born on January 31, 1943, in Reading, he was the son of the late Arthur L. and Catherine V. (Kantner) Huyett. Lee was a graduate of Governor Mifflin High School, Class of 1960. He went on to attend the Reading Business School. Lee served proudly in the United States Army, during the Vietnam War. He was a dedicated accountant, eventually starting his own business, Huyett and Associates, LTD in Ephrata and Shillington from 1987 until retirement in 2022. 

Lee loved to spend time with his friends and clients. He enjoyed fishing trips to Canada, golfing, poker and playing Santa at Christmas. He was a former member of Grace Lutheran Church, where he taught Sunday school and was on the church council. 

He was predeceased by his son Gregory Rotz, who passed away on July 2, 2002 and his sister Kathy C. Houston. 

Lee is survived by his granddaughter Tammy S. (Rotz) Hutcherson, wife of Matthew A. Hutcherson, of Brandy Station, VA; daughter-in-law, Darlene (Rotz) Hastings, wife of Robert J. Hastings, of Seaford, DE; sister, Eileen M. Klopp; nieces Trina and Jenna Klopp; and his many beloved friends. 

A Celebration of life service will be held at Bean Funeral Homes 129 E. Lancaster Ave. Shillington, PA 19607 on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 7:00pm. Amy S. Landis, Certified Celebrant, will officiate. The family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Homes, Shillington from 5:00pm-7:00pm. 

Graveside service will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024 at 11:00am at Fairview Cemetery of Shillington, 328 New Holland Ave. Reading, PA 19607. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America. Online condolences may be made to www.beanfuneralhomes.com.
