Lawrence Rhoads

Lawrence L. Rhoads, 78, of Lower Alsace Township, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018 at 5:51pm in Penn State Health-St. Joseph Hospital. He was the husband of Michele T. (Wails) Rhoads. Born in Boyertown, Mr. Rhoads was the son of the late Frederick and Freda (Schott) Rhoads. He served in the United States Army and was a welder at Dana Corp. He enjoyed attending Street Rod Shows especially with his 1931 Ford Coupe Street Rod which won National Awards. In addition to his wife Michele, Mr. Rhoads is survived by his sons Lawrence D. Rhoads, husband of Cristy Rhoads of Georgetown, Delaware; Daniel L. Rhoads, husband of Traci Rhoads of Bernville and his daughter Jill P. Willman, wife of Dennis Willman of Exeter Township and his 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Fred Rhoads of Fredericksburg, Virginia; Sharon Levan of Birdsboro; Sandra Leh-Janda of Exeter Township and Shirley Rhoads.
Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held in Berks County Memorial Gardens, 201 Evansville Road, Fleetwood, Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 1:30 pm. Amy S. Landis, Certified Celebrant will officiate. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home 6 Fairlane Road, Exeter Township, Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to American Cancer Society 3893 Adler Place Suite 170, Bethlehem, PA 18017 in memory of Mr. Lawrence L. Rhoads.
