Laverne Arnold

Laverne M. Arnold, 87, of Reading, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018 in her residence. She was the beloved wife to the late Howard S. Arnold Jr. who passed away on October 18, 1978. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late LeRoy J. Martin and Mildred L. (Bechtel) Martin. Laverne was a graduate of Reading High School Class of 1948. During her life she was employed as a payroll manager for BCIU in Reading for 20 years, retiring in August of 1993. She was predeceased by her daughter Susan M. Arnold who passed away in April of 2003; brother, Keith A. Martin; and great nephew Matthew Burkart. Laverne is survived by her brother Gerald L. Martin of Stony Creek; nephews, Scott A. Martin of Exeter Township; Stephan Martin of Stoney Creek; Nieces, Stephanie Burkart, of Mohnton; and Patricia Bohn, of Wernersville. She is also survived by 4 great nieces, 2 great nephews, 3 great-great nieces and 2 great-great nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at Bean Funeral Home 6 Fairlane Road, Exeter Township, 19606 on Thursday March 15, 2018 at 12:30pm. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive family and friends from 11:30-12:30pm at the funeral home.
