Laurence Spotts

Laurence L. R. Spotts, 81, of Cumru Twp., passed away on December 29, 2016 at Mifflin Center.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Grover H. and Mary E. (Focht) Spotts.
Laurence was a 1953 graduate of Reading High School. He went on to attend Drexel University and Penn State University and was employed as the plant manager of Ludens Inc. and later Hershey Foods Corporation-Reading Plant for 41 years. He served as President of the Shillington Lions Club from 1980-81, Chief of the Y Indian Guides of Reading from 1970-71, and was a 32nd degree Mason. Laurence enjoyed spending time with his family and playing pinochle with friends.
He was predeceased by his infant daughter: Marcy A. Spotts.
He is survived by his wife: Beverly J. (White) Spotts, Children: Steven L. Spotts, husband of Sandy L. of Mohrsville; Jeffrey L. Spotts, husband of Marlene N. of Spring Twp.; Michael L. Spotts, husband of Kathleen M. of Oley; and Michele L. Strain, wife of Joseph W. of Shillington. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Bryan, Bradley, April, Andrew, and Madison Spotts and Joseph, Michael, and Nicholas Strain; Sister: Shirley M. Kemp.
Services will be at the convenience of the family.
