Krista Schoener

Krista L. Schoener, 44, of South Heidelberg Township, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 9:22 am in her home. She was the wife of Timothy A. Schoener. Born in Reading, Krista was the daughter of Kenneth I. Miller, husband of Sandra Miller of Leesport and Sandra L. (Lamm) Schoch, wife of Anthony R. Schoch of Wernersville. She was a 1990 graduate of Conrad Weiser High School and a 1994 graduate of Shippensburg University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and was a six-time All-American swimmer. She received her Master's degree in Education from Gratz University in Philadelphia. Krista was a teacher for 20 years at Conrad Weiser East Elementary School. She was a member of Saint John's (Hain's) United Church of Christ in Wernersville. In addition to her husband Tim and her parents, Krista is survived by her children Jack A. and Mackenzie L. Schoener both at home. She is also survived by a brother Troy K. Miller, husband of Sharon E. Miller of Austin, Texas and by her maternal grandmother Joan L. Lamm of Leesport along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Krista's greatest passion in life was the love she shared for her family and friends and the mark she left on her community as a teacher. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Funeral Service will be held in Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, Friday, September 16, 2016 at 7:00 pm. Reverend Dr. Jon A. Fogle will officiate. Interment will be held privately by the family in Leesport Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends Friday, September 16, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the children's college education: Jack and Mackenzie Schoener Donation Fund, Wells Fargo Bank, 2585 State Hill Road, Wyomissing, PA 19610, or to Fox Chase Cancer Institute, 333 Cottman Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19111 in memory of Mrs. Krista L.
