Kenneth E. Mauzy, Jr., 61, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away Monday, November 9, 2015 at 11:16 am in his home. He was the husband of Kim A. Harrington-Mauzy. Born in Cortland, New York, he was the son of Agnes Wood of Cortland, New York and the late Kenneth E. Mauzy Sr.. He was a graduate of DeRuyter High School in DeRuyter, New York and received an Associate Degree in Construction Technology from Alfred Community College. He was a Sales Manager for Eastern Industries in Allentown.
Ken was raised on a farm by his grandparents Ray and Beatrice Mauzy and learned to live off the land. At a young age he learned to play the drums and joined a band in high school both as a lead singer and drummer. Some of his fondest memories were in the band and with his friends Mike, Alan, Tommy, Leland, John, Pat and Randy on the basketball team. He was also a valued member of society serving as a Trustee of St. John's United Church of Christ Gibralter, PA, as well as serving as the President of the Twin Valley School Board. He was a mentor and leader. He held friends close and family closer. His smile was infectious and his big heart was contagious.
In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Mauzy is survived by his sons, Derek P. Mauzy, husband of Stephanie M. Mauzy of Birdsboro and Ryan D. Mauzy, husband of Cameron A. Mauzy of Richmond, Virginia, as well as his first wife Betty Mauzy Earnshaw. He is also survived by his grandchildren Donovan P. Mauzy; Luke H. Mauzy; Dillon A. Mauzy; Tyler D. Mauzy and Sydney G. Mauzy. Mr. Mauzy is also survived by his siblings Glen "Mike" Mauzy, husband of Kathi Mauzy of McKinney, Texas; Anne "Cookie" Dunham, of South Carolina; Linda "Sue" Mauzy of South Carolina; and brother in law Brian Dunham of Cortland; Jackie Comfort, husband of Laurie Comfort of Cortland, New York and Cathy of Homer, New York and was preceded in death by his brother Bradley Mauzy and his wife, Charlotte. He also was survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service will be held in Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, Friday, November 13, 2015 at 6:00 pm. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family will receive relatives and friends Friday 4-6:00 pm.
