Kenneth Gehman

Kenneth Edwin Gehman, 75, of Leola, entered into rest Friday, March 9, 2018 at the Bob Fryer & Family Inpatient Center, Mount Joy. Born in Reinholds, Lancaster County, Mr. Gehman was the son of the late Emerson Edwin Gehman and Bessie Catherine (Emswiler) Gehman. After graduating from Garden Spot High School in 1960, he worked at Bollman Hat Company for a few years, where he met his wife of 54 years, Jane L. (Bird) Gehman. Mr. Gehman worked as a press operator for 37 years at Sperry New Holland, currently CNH Industrial, and for 16 years at Elixer Industries in Leola. For the last year or so he enjoyed working at Weaver's Hardware Store in Leola. He was a selfless man and a good friend, who enjoyed bowling, umpiring softball, hunting and working outdoors. Mr. Gehman was a loving father to Lori S. Jackson, wife of Daniel M. Keller of Shillington, and Curtis S. Gehman of Burlingame, California. He also adored his grandson, Thaad M. Rajan. He is also survived by his siblings Gerald D. Gehman of Reinholds; Lois Justice of Denver, PA; Daniel M. Gehman of Reinholds; and was preceded in death by his sister Miriam Louise Porter, wife of Marvin Porter of Denver, PA.
On Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 9:45 to 10:45 am, the family will receive relatives and friends at Grace Fellowship Church, 622 Old Lancaster Pike, Shillington, where Mr. Gehman was a member. Pastor Raymond Sensenig will officiate the funeral service beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family prefers contributions made to Hospice & Community Center, 685 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17601, in memory of Mr. Kenneth E. Gehman.
