Kenneth E. Baker, Sr., 85, of Hamburg, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 5:20 pm in Penn State Health-St. Joseph Hospital. He was the husband of Virginia M. (Owen) Baker. Born in Blossburg, PA, Mr. Baker was the son of the late Edie and Maude (Kio) Baker. He was a member of Victory Chapel Ministries in Hamburg where he served as an Elder and Board Member. He was also a member of Kimmerling Grange #1529 in Mt. Zion. Mr. Baker was a street foreman for the City of Galeton for 30 years and then a laborer for the PA Fish & Boat Commission for 12 years retiring in 2001. In addition to his wife, Mr. Baker is survived by his children Bette J. Stamm, wife of Lee Stamm of Myerstown; Phyllis A. Simmons, wife of Isaac Simmons of Fredericksburg; Sherry W. Paulk of Independence, KY; Candice E. Fazio, wife of Tony Fazio of Bethel; Natalie I. Baker of Hamburg; Jenny M. Alvarez, wife of Pastor Alex Alvarez of Hamburg; Kenneth E. Baker, Jr. of Hamburg and William L. Baker of Fredericksburg. Mr. Baker is also survived by his 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Chris D. Baker.
Funeral Service will be held at Victory Chapel Ministries, 213 North 4th Street, Hamburg, Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 10:00 am. Pastor Alex Alvarez will officiate. Interment will follow at Zoar Lutheran Church Cemetery, Bethel Township. The family will receive relatives and friends at Victory Chapel Ministries Saturday 9:00 am to 10:00 am. Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring is in charge of arrangements.
