Kathryn Troop

Kathryn E. Troop,88, of Wyomissing, passed away March 6, 2011 in Berks Heim where she resided since February 9th. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Oliver F. Kohl and the late Florence E. (Behm) Kohl.

She was employed as a Senior Operator for AT & T for 28 years retiring in May 1987.

She was a member of Unity Church, Reading. She was Financial Secretary of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union, Local 1898 from 1964 to 1986. She was chairman of the Community Services Committee and served on the Board of the United Way and on the Board of the Visiting Nurses Association. She was nominated as Woman of the Year in 1974. She served as President of the Retirees Club since 1991, representing AT & T retirees.

She is survived by a son Terry C. Troop, Fleetwood, a grandson Jonathan C. Troop of Fleetwood, 2 brothers Oliver C. Kohl of Birdsboro and James Kohl of Oley, and a sister Betty L. (Kohl) Cardinal of Hudson Falls, NY. She was predeceased by 2 brothers George and Louis and 2 sisters Grace and Ella Mae.
