Kathryn Rider

December 29, 1932 — September 22, 2016

Kathryn "Kay" K. Rider, 83, of Wernersville, passed away on September 22, 2016 at Phoebe Berks Village Gardens.
Born in Laconia, NH she was the daughter of the late C. Ralph and Edith M. (Hamilton) Kennett.
Kay graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor's degree in Education and later graduated from New York University, where she received her Master's degree in Guidance Counseling. She went on to be employed as an Advanced Math Teacher at Princeton High School. She was a devoted mother, as well as a passionate volunteer, where she served at Berks Heim, The Children's Home of Reading, St. John's Reformed Church, and Phoebe Berks.
She was predeceased by her brother: Donald Kennett, husband of Carol Kennett.
She is survived by her husband: Ronald L. Rider, children: Ralph L. Rider, widower of Linda (Ott) Rider of Sinking Spring and Craig R. Rider, husband of Judy A. Newpher-Rider of Fleetwood. She is also survived by her grandson: John "Jay" A. Rider and Sisters: Jean Crouse, Joan Sherwood, and Anne Anderson.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Auditorium at Phoebe Berks, on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 11:00AM. The family will receive friends and relatives from 9:30-11:00AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to St. John's Reformed Church, Sinking Spring, PA 19608 or Phoebe Berks Village Gardens, Wernersville PA 19565.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
