Kathleen M. Scheffler

Kathleen M. (Aiello) Scheffler, 88, of Exeter Township passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Penn State Health St. Joseph's Medical Center. She was the loving wife to Raymond E. Scheffler for over 31 years of marriage before his passing on July 18, 2012. Born in Reading, Kathleen was the daughter of the late Thomas and Susan (Rose) Aiello. Kathleen was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, class of 1954 and went on to serve in The United States Air Force from 1955 to 1957. She later went on to work as an accountant for General Battery (Exide) for 17 years before her retirement in 1992.

Kathleen is survived by her children, Richard C. Chesser, husband of Judy, of Henderson, NV, Mark E. Chesser, husband of Susan, of Fleetwood, her stepchildren, Mitchell Scheffler, husband of Heidi, of Virginia Beach, Denise L. Rapp, wife of Bill, Virginia Beach, and Kim L. Scheffler, of Virginia Beach. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and her siblings, Joseph Aiello, and Connie Screpesi.

In addition to her husband Ray, Kathleen is predeceased by daughter, Carla J. Matz, and her first husband Carl E. Chesser, who passed in 1981. She is also predeceased by her sister, Maria Bucks, and her sister, Connie's husband, Mickey Screpesi.

Prayer service for Kathleen will be held in Bean Funeral Home, 6 Fairlane Road, Reading, PA 19606 on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at 10:00 AM. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home, from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM. Inurnment will be held privately at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
