Kathleen Ann Hiester, 71, formerly of Sinking Spring, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022, in Scottsdale, Arizona.
She was the beloved wife of Scott W. Hiester. Together, they shared 44 wonderful years of marriage. Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary (O’Malley) Kotch. Kathleen was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, class of 1969. She graduated from Reading Area Community College in 1978 with an Associate of Applied Science. She was a member of St. Cyril & Methodius Roman Catholic Church and the Slovak Catholic Sokols. In 2002, Kathy retired from her position of Primary Operations Manager, after 33 years at Carpenter Technology.
Kathy and her husband retired to Arizona in 2005 and enjoyed their new adventure, together. Traveling, being surrounded by her friends and family, her love of hosting parties in both Pennsylvania and Arizona, baking her famous cheesecakes, and Penn State games. Those mentioned times she enjoyed the most, paled in comparison to her love of being a wife, a mother, and a Grammie.
She is survived by her husband Scott W. Hiester of Cave Creek, AZ; daughter, Elizabeth Mobilia, wife of Andrew, of West Lawn; grandchildren, Anthony Mobilia and Katherine Mobilia; siblings, William Kotch, of Reading; Stephen Kotch, of Wernersville; Madeline Durlak, of Hilton Head, SC; and several nephews.
Kathleen was predeceased by her niece Erin R. Overley, who passed away in July of 2017.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Homes, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, PA 19608 on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Interment will be Private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
