Kathleen Renata (nee Grube) Evans of Reading, PA and Jensen Beach, FL. Died in her home after a two year fight with bone cancer, on November 25, 2016 at the age of 84. Born in Cleveland, OH January 5th, 1932, the devoted daughter of the late Arthur Martin Grube and Renata Marie (nee Reinking) Grube. Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and longtime loving wife of 55 years to George Edward Charles Evans, DO. Kathleen earned her BS from The Ohio State University General Science/Home Economics in June 1954, the first in her family to graduate from college. She loved gardening, yoga, cooking, travel, and the beach life. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends all over the world. She shared the love of travel with her grandchildren by taking two trips with them: one to Alaska and one to Turks and Caicos. Kathy was an avid and accomplished knitter; she loved to knit Afghans, as gifts to her family. She made four for her children then proceeded to knit one for each of her 12 grandchildren ensuring that they felt her warmth and love when they were not with her.
She is survived by her four children and their, spouses, George Edward Charles Evans II (Dr. Joan Evans), Claudia Evans Zale (Stanley Zale), Christie Evans Sturges (Carl Sturges, Jr.) Stephanie Evans Hemdal (Niklas Hemdal), her twelve grandchildren, Rachel Evans King, Jessica Gwynne Evans, Hannah Lauren Zale, Olivia Renata Zale, Samuel Edmund Zale, Courtney Elizabeth Sturges, Carl Edward Sturges III, Christopher Evans Sturges, Charles Emmett Sturges, Anders Kerr Hemdal, Annika Margaret Hemdal, and Alina Brooke Hemdal, and great-grandson James Albert King IV.
