Karl Angstadt

Karl J. Angstadt, 81, of Reading, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at the Reading Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Pattilu E. (Farrell) Angstadt for 47 years. Born in Reading on January 28, 1937, he was the son of the late Earl R. Angstadt and Catherine A. (Weiser) Angstadt. Karl was a 1955 Reading High School graduate and proudly served in the U.S. Marines. He was employed by USPS for 31 and a half years, retiring in 1992 as Postmaster of the Leesport Post Office.
Karl had a passion for gardening, woodworking, history, and dessert. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, reading, and doing puzzles.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Tara E. (Angstadt) Lash, wife of Mark Lash, Leesport; Colleen M. (Angstadt) Cummins, wife of Chris Cummins, Colorado; Kyle R. Angstadt, husband of Tabitha (Berger) Angstadt, Leesport; grandchildren, Allison Lash, Alyssa Lash, Abby Angstadt, and Aiden Angstadt; and brother, John P. Angstadt, Virginia. Karl was predeceased by his siblings, Richard W. Angstadt and Kathryn (Angstadt) Snyder.
Funeral service will be held at Bean Funeral Home N. 16th & Rockland Streets, Reading, 19601, on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 11:00am. Pastor David Blitch will be officiating. The family will receive family and friends from 10:00am-11:00am at the funeral home.
