Karen Jean (Brendle) Parzanese, 63, of Alsace Township, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Penn State Health, St. Joseph Medical Center. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, whose love and kindness touched everyone she met. Karen’s 37-year marriage to her loving husband, Stephen A. Parzanese, was filled with laughter, adventures, and unwavering support. Together, they created a lifetime of memories, including many cherished trips to the Borgata. Born in Lancaster County, Karen was the daughter of the late Harold Brendle and Shirley (Stoner). A proud graduate of Governor Mifflin High School, she dedicated 40 years of service as a Senior Map Technician at Met-Ed, where she built strong relationships and left a lasting impact on everyone she worked with. Karen found joy in the simple moments, whether it was enjoying the outdoors at her new home with her sons, Michael A., husband of Amy and Vincent I. Parzanese, husband of Kendra, or creating beautiful memories with her six grandchildren—Joseph, Anthony, Jake, Everett, Rowan, and Avery. She is also survived by her siblings, Robin Porter and David Brendle.
She was a constant presence of love and support for her family, always ready to offer a listening ear, a helping hand, or words of encouragement. Her childhood friendships with Beth, Anita, and Judy were another treasure in her life, providing her with a lifetime of laughter, love, and shared memories. Karen was truly the glue that held her family and friends together, always there when someone needed her, whether for guidance, comfort, or simply a moment of joy. Karen was deeply loved by so many, and her warm heart and selfless nature will be missed beyond measure. Her legacy of love, kindness, and strength will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
