Joyce Davis

Joyce Elaine (Schuyler) Davis, 94, of Brewton, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2022 in Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital.  Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Catharine R. (Miller) and Walter A. Schuyler, Jr.  She graduated from Reading High School and worked as a Bank Teller for Meridian Bank for 29 years before her retirement on March 1, 1990.  Joyce was the wife of the late Cosmel R. Davis who passed April 30, 1980.  She was a lifelong member of St. Mark’s United Church of Christ.  Joyce enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Phillies, reading books, and spending time with her family.

Joyce is survived by her children, Jeffrey R. Davis of Bozeman, Montana and Catharine Claytor, wife of Steven of Brewton, Alabama.  Also surviving are her grandchildren, Rebecca Carthy, wife of Dan of Warner Robins, Georgia, Patrick Claytor of Missoula, Montana, and Andrew Claytor of Gastonia, North Carolina, and her great grandchildren, Alexis, Jackson, and Emilia.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 11:00am in Bean Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1605 Rockland Street, Hampden Heights.  Pastor Steve Ohnsman to celebrate.  The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 10:00am to 11:00am.  Bean Funeral Homes, Hampden Heights is in charge of arrangements and online condolences may be made at www.beanfuneralhomes.com.
