Joseph K. Tomalis, 70, of Exeter Township, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021
at 11:39 pm at Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Bella G. (Garces)
Tomalis. Born in Vienna, Virginia, Mr. Tomalis was the son of Marion E. (Singley)
Tomalis and the late Joseph J. Tomalis. He was a graduate of Governor Mifflin
High School, class of ’69, and served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. Mr.
Tomalis was a member of Saint Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, Exeter
Township where he was a member of the guitar group for 20 years and
participated in Cursillo in 2006. He was an electronic technician at Western
Electric, then Agere for 23 years until his retirement. In addition to his wife and
mother, Mr. Tomalis is survived by his children Monica P. Hassler, wife of Todd M.
Hassler of Exeter Township; Joseph V. Tomalis at home and his grandchildren
Abigail M. Hassler and Gabrielle C. Hassler. He is also survived by his brothers
Steve Tomalis, husband of Jan Tomalis of Exeter Township and Jerry Tomalis of
Wyomissing, and has family members in Spain.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Catharine of Siena Roman
Catholic Church, 4975 Boyertown Pike, Exeter Township, Wednesday, August 18,
2021 at 12:00 pm. Reverend Monsignor Edward R. Domin, Celebrant. Inurnment
with Military Honors rendered by the United State Air Force Honor Guard will
follow at 3:00 pm at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. The family will
receive relatives and friends at Saint Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church
Wednesday 10:00 am to 11:45 am. Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory, 6 Fairlane
