Joseph Scarloss

Joseph Scarloss, 83, of Wyomissing died May 28, 2011 in Manor Care Sinking Springs. He was born December 28, 1927 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania to Mark and Martha Scarloss and graduated from Coaldale High School in 1945. He served in the United States Navy during WWII on the aircraft carrier USS Kearsarge (CV-33). Following his service in the Navy, he studied engineering at Penn State University. He worked many years for the Austin Company of Cleveland, Ohio, assigned to positions in New Jersey and Kansas City. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing and reading. He was the husband of Nancy (Trate) Scarloss of Wyomissing. Surviving, in addition, is a son Mark Scarloss of New Jersey, daughter Beth L. Ming and grandson Jeremiah A. Ming of Kansas, sisters Stephanie Kasales of State College, Pennsylvania and Marie Sinnott of New Jersey, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
