Joseph Nicholas

June 16, 1922 — June 9, 2016

Joseph T. Nicholas Sr., of Reading, passed peacefully into God's arms surrounded by his loving family on June 9, 2016, just one week shy of his 94th birthday.
He was the beloved husband of Shirley, his wife of 67 years, who passed in April 2015.
Joseph lived an amazing life as the father of Joseph Jr. (Rosario); Kathleen Callow (Robert); Deborah Andes (Jeffrey); Margaret McConnell (Richmond); Mary Ellen House (Dean); Mark Nicholas; Christine Leszczynski (Henry); Shirley Breslin (Daniel); Michele Hagelbarger ( Jeffrey); Kelly Sing (Lawrence); 23 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Joseph was a WWII Navy veteran; a manufacturers' representative and born salesman; accomplished fisherman and golfer; but most of all an unforgettable Dad and Grampy.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 13, 2016, at
11:00 a.m. in Saint Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, 4975 Boyertown Pike, Reading, PA 19606. Reverend Brian M. Miller, Celebrant. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family from 10:00 -10:45 a.m. in Church.
