Joseph Jasinski

August 21, 1932 — January 31, 2017

Joseph R. Jasinski, 84, of Cumru Township, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 4:40 pm in Reading Hospital. He was the husband of the late Alice L. (Schaeffer) Jasinski who passed away July 25, 2001. Born in West Reading, Mr. Jasinski was the son of the late Stanley J. and Victoria M. (Coates) Jasinski. He was a member of Saint John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church in Shillington and Bethany Lutheran Church in West Reading. Mr. Jasinski was a 1950 graduate of Shillington High School and in 1958 graduated with Honors from RCA Institute with a degree in Radio and Television Repair. He served in the United States Army. Mr. Jasinski was a professional electrical engineer for RCA then later Burle Industries in Lancaster for 40 years retiring in 1998; after which, he was contracted as a consultant. He designed military surveillance systems and was awarded two patents. He was a Marching Member of Reading Buccaneers from 1957-1966 as a lead soprano horn and served as business manager of the alumni association. In life, Joe loved sharing stories of his youth and had a great gift of joke telling. His family would tell you he and his brothers were consummate quoit, horseshoe and badminton competitors at family picnics. Joe was always jovial, kind and willing to give a hand and a continual student of knowledge. He is survived by his children Sharon A. Kane of Cumru Township and Richard A. Jasinski of Cumru Township along with his grandchildren Nathan M. and Alexander D. Kane. Mr. Jasinski is also survived by his brother John S. "Jack" Jasinski of Wyomissing.
Funeral Service will be held in Bean Funeral Home, 129 East Lancaster Ave. Shillington Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 10:00 am. Deacon Felix Joseph Lombardo will officiate. Entombment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home Monday, February 6, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm and on Tuesday from 9:00-10:00 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Greater Pennsylvania Chapter 1100 Liberty Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15222 in memory of Mr. Joseph R. Jasinski.
