Joseph (Giuseppe) Giorgio, 74, of Tulpehocken Township, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 12:06 pm in his home. He was the husband of Michelle M. (Yeager) Giorgio. Born in S. Angelo di Brolo, Messina, Sicily, Mr. Giorgio was the son of the late Francesco P. and Tindara (Princiotto) Giorgio. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War on the USS Constellation, stationed off the coast of the Philippines. Following his military duty, he graduated from Barber School and with his brother Tino owned and operated Giorgio's Barber Salon. He later then opened Giorgio's Garage with his brother Michael. Mr. Giorgio was the owner of J&M Mushroom, Inc. retiring in 1998. He then acquired Four Points Sunoco Station in Tulpehocken Township and also Giuseppe's Pizzeria. Currently, Mr. Giorgio was the co-owner of the Tavern On Penn and also worked part time as a school bus driver for the Tulpehocken and Conrad Weiser School Districts. In addition to his wife Michelle, Mr. Giorgio is survived by his daughters Marissa L. Giorgio of Myerstown; Tina M. Mosser, wife of Travis L. Mosser of Newmanstown and Stephanie A. Giorgio of Womelsdorf along with his two granddaughters Cecilia T. Mosser and Saleen A. Zerbe. He is also survived by his siblings Michael F. Giorgio of Lebanon; Tindaro Giorgio of Flying Hills; Carl P. Giorgio of Bethel; Esterina F. Larsh of Palmyra and Maria Henderson of Wyomissing Hills. Mr. Giorgio was a loving and devoted family man. His hobbies included cars, hunting, fishing, and gardening.
Funeral Service will be held in Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 12 Noon. Pastor Matt R. Saxinger will officiate. Interment with Military Honors will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family will receive relatives and friends Saturday, September 3, 2016 from 9:00am to 12 Noon.
