Joseph Galdun

Joseph S. Galdun, 74, of Reading, passed away May 22, 2011 in his residence. Devoted Dad, Pop Pop, Pop Joe, Sonny and dear friend to many. The World has lost a gentle and great man. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Dierolf) Galdun who passed away August 19, 2006. Born in Reading on February 5, 1937, he was the son of the late Joseph S. and Anna A. (Bilak) Galdun.

Joseph was a 1955 graduate of Reading Catholic High School and served in the US Army during peacetime. He was employed for 24 years by Food Fair/ Pantry Pride as a clerk and last worked for 13 years by the PA State Liquor Control Board as the Rockland Street Store manager.

Surviving are two daughters Kim D. (Rudy) McVaugh wife of Kyle S. McVaugh of Reading and Karen M. (Rudy) Becker wife of Randy L. Becker of Bernville, a son Kevin L. Rudy husband of Carmela M. Rudy of Mohnton, 8 grandchildren Laura N. Rudy, Megan E. Rudy, Rachel M. wife of Philip Hipsky, Kirstin Rhoads, Nicole E. Lengel, Kristin M. Becker, Ryan J. Becker & Kaitlynn N. Becker, 6 great grandchildren Aiden B. Hipsky, Graydon L. Roupp III, Liliana B. Bowman, Chloe E. Hipsky, Dominic R. Becker and Ian Rudy Bowman, a sister Barbara A. (Galdun) Lubas of Reading and a brother Michael J. Galdun of Exeter Twp. He was predeceased by a sister Joan I. Staron.
