John E. Yost, Jr., 72, of Brecknock Township, passed away Monday, April 29, 2024 at Cornerstone Living Memory Care, New Tripoli, Lehigh County. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Melanie A. (Neidert) Yost. Born in Allentown, John was the son of the late John, Sr. and Marguerite T. (Erney) Yost. He was a member of the Church of Saint Benedict in Mohnton. John attended Reading’s Central Catholic High School. He graduated from Lehigh University, where he was a member of the Gryphon Society, in 1973 with a B.S. in Electric Engineering. He was employed at Worley-Parsons, formerly Gilbert Commonwealth, for 38 years, until he retired in 2012.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Yost is survived by his children: Matthew A., husband of Jeanne (Kepler) Yost (Grand Canyon, Arizona); Danielle L., fiancé of Matthew Jarecki (Wyomissing); Mark A., husband of Kayla (Grunn) Yost (Arvada, Colorado) and his grandchildren: Ian, Tanner, and Vivienne. He is also survived by his sister Susan A. Rundle, wife of Robert Rundle (Kutztown), several nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by his brother Robert J. in 2012. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Cornerstone Living Memory Care for their care and dedication to Mr. Yost for the last 6 years.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 28, 2024 at 12:00 pm at the Church of Saint Benedict, 2020 Chestnut Hill Road, Mohnton. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Church of Saint Benedict Friday from 11:00 am to 11:50 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Saint Francis Home 144 Hillside Drive, Shillington or Cornerstone Living Memory Care 4605 Werley’s Corner Road, New Tripoli, PA 18066 in memory of Mr. John E.
