John Snyder

J. Robert T. Snyder (Bob), Cumru Township, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at the Reading Hospital. He was the son of the late J. Robert T. Snyder, Sr. and Florence R. (Rice) Snyder. Born in Washington, D.C. on January 19, 1944 he grew up in Takoma Park, Maryland and graduated from High Point High School. He attended the University of Maryland and served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era.
Bob last worked for Sherman Williams Paint Co., Exeter Township, as a delivery driver. He also worked as a salesman for Pratt and Lambert Paint Co., Buffalo, New York. Bob loved trains and old train stations, visiting train museums and collecting miniature trains and setting up train yards as a hobby. He also loved antiques, long drives, country music and his African gray parrot, Lokie.
He is survived by his loving companion of 12 years, Mary Lou Miller; son, Kenneth R. Snyder husband of Dana, two granddaughters, Taylor and Kennedy Snyder of Humble, Texas; son, Matthew L. Snyder of Fairfax, VA. He was predeceased by a brother, Leonard Snyder.
Memorial Service will be held in Bean Funeral Home, 6 Fairlane Road , Exeter Township on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 11:00am. The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday, from 10:00am-11:00am. Interment will take place at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
