John Slonaker

John D. Slonaker, 87, of Reading, passed away on September 25, 2016 at The Reading Health Rehabilitation Hospital.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late John W. and Catherine (McCoy) Slonaker.
John was last employed as a Security Guard for Security Guards Inc. He enjoyed golf, baseball, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his grandson: Shaun Melton.
He is survived by his children: Stacey M. Heller of Blandon and John D. Slonaker, Jr., husband of Melissa of Wernersville, he is also survived by Sherri Curro of Blandon and Tom Gains of San Antonio, TX.; Grandchildren: Danielle Cole, wife of Matt, Derrick Heller, Desiree Heller, Nicole Hill, Chad Hill, John Slonaker, III, and Cole Slonaker; great-grandchildren: Aubrey Hill and McKenna Cole; Sisters: Mary Ann Hile, Marilyn Firing, Patsy Heckman, and Nancy Heere.
A memorial service will be held at Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 12:00. The family will receive friends and relatives from 10:30-12:00.
