John Rochowicz Sr

John A. Rochowicz Sr., 87, of Lower Alsace Twp., passed away Thursday, October 16, 2008 at St. Joseph's Medical Center, where he had been a patient since October 7th.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Vincent and Cecilia (Klempke) Rochowicz, and husband of Sarah Jane (Binckley) Rochowicz, at home, to whom he had been married for 61 years.

He was a US Army Veteran during World War II.

He worked as a carpenter for the Carpenter's Union Local 492 for more than fifty years, retiring in 1985. He was the former treasurer of the Union from 1977 to 1991.

He was a member of St. Catharine of Sienna R.C.C., and life member of Lower Alsace Fire Co.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons: John A. Rochowicz Jr. of Pennside, Thomas J. Rochowicz Sr., husband of Bonnie Rochowicz, of Pennside; daughter: Cynthia A. Rochowicz at home; grandchildren: Ann Marie and Thomas J. Jr.

He was pre deceased by brothers: Frank, Carl, Edward, and James; and sisters: Florence and Helen.
