John Robert Bailey, 68, of Sinking Spring, passed away March 5, 2016 in the Reading Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He was the husband of Santra L. (Marceaux) Bailey; together they celebrated 45 years of marriage.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Elmer and Anna Mae (Johnson) Bailey.
Mr. Bailey was a 1966 graduate of Muhlenberg High School and The Culinary Institute of America in CT. He was a US Army veteran, a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Laureldale and past member of Blue Marsh Bass Master's Club.
John was employed as a Chef and Kitchen Manager for Boscov's for 40 years, most recently at The Greenery at Boscov's North.
Mr. Bailey loved nature, camping, fishing, respected animals and enjoyed woodworking. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Per John's request he was an organ donor.
Surviving in addition to his wife Santra, are children Gregory A. Bailey, husband of Joy (Stalnecker) Bailey, Shillington; Pamela E. (Bailey) Light, wife of Matthew Light, Lincoln Park; three grandchildren Katy May and Ryan Matthew Light, Ashley Bennett. Other survivors include sister: Nancy (Bailey) Oxenreider, wife of Frederick Oxenreider, Peach Bottom, PA and sister- in -law Margaret Bailey, Reading. He was predeceased by his brother Raymond Bailey.
